The Science Museum—

Who Am I?

You’re Welcome.

What makes you, uniquely you?

Studio AKA Director Grant Orchard wrestled with this fascinating conundrum in a short film for Casson Mann & Graphic Thought Facility’s revamp of the Science Museum’s WHO AM I? gallery, which investigates everyone’s favourite subject – themselves…

In this amazing exhibition, visitors can explore their identity by encountering striking object displays and iconic artwork, or share their opinions on ethical issues in science.

In keeping with Casson Mann’s exhibition design and Graphic Thought Facility’s graphic scheme, Grant’s one-minute introduction piece  – displayed on a vertical ‘welcome’ screen – involved the design & creation of an abstracted scientist character who serves as a visitor attractor & guide to the live science area.

In addition to the animated screen introduction, Grant also worked with GTF to design the graphic elements wrapping around the drum surround structure of the live science area. The combination of both static and moving elements creates a visibly stunning result and beautifully provokes a visitor’s curiosity in this exciting new zone.
