The creative team at Albion had devised a tone of voice, visual identity and sonic identity that was the foundation of the Skype brand. For their first – determinedly cheerful – TV Spots, the agency decided to co-opt the format of ‘how-to-videos’ and apply high production values, with expertly crafted animation to convey the message. Enter Studio AKA.
Using the agency’s simple storylines to reinforce the message that Skype is the ‘software that enables the world’s conversations’ AKA Director Grant Orchard crafted a beautifully constructed combination of 2D Flash animation, 3D, After Effects, and live-action. The results look suitably effortless, with a cadence that never drops its momentum. Clever stuff!
